13:10 Skype talkThe research into radiation exposure of farm animals in Chernobyl and Fukushima over the past three years

Mr. Yoichi Matsuki will talk via Skype on the theme ‘farms and livestock under radiation exposure of the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear accident, the track of three years of public support – 800 cows living in the evacuation directive area!’.

His talk will be reflecting on the research result of the radioactive contaminated area in Fukushima and the influence of Chernobyl in European countries.

Yoichi Matsuki

As an emeritus professor of agricultural economics at Nippon Veterinary and Life Science University and a head organiser of Japan Farm Animal Welfare Initiative, Dr. Matsuki has studied agriculture and the environment in the Netherlands for a many years based at Wageningen UR. He supervises the research project ‘Recording the effects of the great earthquake on humans and animals, farm animals, wild animals and companion animals’ which focuses on farm animals in the restricted area in Fukushima and the effect of Chernobyl accident on farm animals in EU.
